very nice! their results are strange in that they don't have you in the 40-49 results even though that was your category win? Saw Evan Pickett in there too - I was duking it out with him in the BAR 4 and 3 ranks this year, he's a horse. Nice work polishing him off, and Andrew and Larry as well. Keeping your runjoelrun intact :-)
In other news, Fruitvale BART just got a wide "turnstile" as well, but the nifty BART RFID card can't be purchased with CommuterChecks, so I'm still 15 seconds or so away from optimal on my cyclo-commute.
3 weeks and counting now though, I've worked from home twice but if I go in, it's on two wheels.
Thanks again for your help/advice.
On the gear side of things, I've got some new shoe covers for rain that seal at the ankle so water doesn't shoot from the fender to the leg and run down to the shoe. I don't remember if you had a good shoe solution. I forget which brand but can dig it out if you're curious.
The last thing I think I'm not settled on is the head. What do you do for head coverage when it it's cold+wet?
First Laurie, I didn't win it really! If I could learn to transition I could have made up those 20 seconds on the overall winner I think! Plus my shoes came untied in the first run and I had to stop and tie them. Not good practice. Anyway I won the Master's which I'm very happy about!
Hey Mike, I ran most of the first running leg with Evan. He kept talking to me, I thought he was trying to psych me out, but he was probably just trying to be friendly. He was even worse in the transition than I was and I got on the bike first after he got in front of me while I was retying my shoe!
I was first off the bike overall and I couldn't even spot anyone behind me. The winner had an excellent transition and he was right on me in no time: caught with .5 mile to go on the hill section of the run. I want to go back next year to try for the overall win.
Oh, on the funny OnYourMark results: they pick the overall winner and the Master's winner (40+). Then out of the rest of the people they pick the top of each age division. That means that the 1st place 40-49 typically came in second in that age group, unless the first master was over 50. Funny huh? They gave a nice plaque for overall and Master's winner though. What would have happened if I won the overall? Would I have gotten two plaques? I think they would have given the Master's plaque to the next Master.
I like the changeups in things like that. Gives you something to ponder while drinking the keg of Sierra Nevada they had at the finish.

Looks pretty sweet, and I can't wait till they do the CommuterCheck purchase option. Of course if you've got your tinfoil hat they-can't-track-me hat on remember to keep it in a foil poutch or static bag (a faraday cage, basically) since RFID is trackable.

Mike,
Where can you buty the RFID Bart card? I need one.
I don't typically put anything on my head unless it's really cold. I have a baklava (sic?) for sub 40 degrees and that's about it.

hey, a win is a win in my book.
and yeah, the overall masters thing is strange. I finished 5th but was bumped up to 4th because of that. bizarre.
