China finally opens up...

...I'm talking about the Olympics sports coverage, not human rights! What were you thinking?

So NBCOlympics.com is going to show a huge amount of coverage of all the sports you'll never see in primtime, without all the 'human interest' crap. Actually, without commentators too, seems to be just the World Feed.

The schedule is quite detailed too, so you can actually tune in for your event, whereas prime time you have to watch the whole crappy three hours to see the five minutes you were looking for. Here's an example of some Cycling Track coverage.

On the political front: I don't think we, in this country, have nothing to feel defensive about. If we had the Olympics this year, visitors could reasonably protest the Iraq War (just like people want to protest Darfur and Tibet in China). So what's the difference? The protesters wouldn't be harrassed like they will be there. Was going to say that at least we wouldn't deny them a visa, but on second thought...

Nice find on the video feed. That is awesome. Seems that cable has a bunch of cool channels for this olympics. I watched soccer last night with no interruptions (except half time). On the cycling front, fun riding with everyone at the Port on Tues. Seemed like a pretty good night, but not too terribly hard. With any luck the Tues ride will pay off at San Rafael.

Now that all the live feed is available, the question is will you stay up to watch it? Men's RR goes off from 2330-0230 Fri/Sat. I'm in.

They will televise RR again on NBC at reasonable hour on Saturday.

But then you'll have to hear about everybody's 'I'm actually dying from Asthma' story.

And heavily truncated no doubt.

i ride for fusion. i see you at the port regularly. since we're all in our clown suits, i'm hard pressed to give you more detail other than that i'm skinny not that tall and i'd rather ride up hill but i give it my all at the port. i try to learn from you and john and the other successful riders, and i'm hopeful that i'll make 2 by the end of the season. -- josh

OK, Josh, you've posted before I know. Very cool, I think the Port has become a good training for everyone. You can practice attacks etc without losing a race.
